    Does anyone here use Illustrator?

    Hi,
As above - I'm thinking about learning Illustrator - how difficult is it? I'm proficient at Photoshop and know my way around it, but to be able to use a vector-based program would be a big plus. I'm well aware of the thousands of tutorials on the web, but just wondered if I could get a first-hand opinion on it, as my friend told me it's difficult to learn....
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

if you are already proficient at photoshop... Illustrator is no biggie...

however if you are a photoshop newbie... Illustrator might give you headaches...

Cool - photoshop it is then - gonna fire it up. Have you ever used Freehand? I'm just thinking about it for employment prospects really - I heard that Adobe has purchased Macromedia and that Freehand has not been released as part of the Studio package, so it's bit sketchy

Cheers Stoo! I've heard of it, but not considered it - I'm already struggling to decide whether to commit fully to Freehand or Illustrator (or both) already - don't need any more options!!

Illustrator is for VECTOR ART. Photoshop is mainly for Bitmap (pixel per pixel) art.

Two different beasts. Illustrator techniques are harder in my opinion.
