Okay, I know we would all love mic control via voice software but we know the music will be a problem... but how aobut this... How about someone writes a program that whenever a certain button is pressed, it activates the mic whiel at the same time muting the outgoing sound. And then, when the button is pressed again, it deactivates the mic, and unmutes the sound. This way you have a good, un-noisy atmosphere when giving commands. What do you all think?

That may work, but then you still have the problem of engine and road noise playing havoc with the voice detection software.
Then it wouldn't be totally voice control, you would have to push a button. Why not just push a button corisponding to the voice command (ie. play, stop, next).
I seem to recall someone saying that in certain VC software, there is an option to ignore outgoing sound--the software can detect the outgoing sound from the sound card and "mute" it as far as the VC is concerned. the sound still plays, but is cancelled by the software.
Because that way you have very many buttons to control... what about if your searching for a group ect?Quote:
