Hmmm...I have to question that. Windows will not boot without a few of those files, so if they were missing, Win98 wouldn't even run.
Now, before a bunch of people reply and say "but I searched my machine for those files and they weren't there", that's because they are all built into the VMM32.VXD file when Windows installs.
I'm not saying that this doesn't work, just that it may be one of those things that are "unconfirmed". Sort of like fuel additives...
