staples, office depot, officemax all have cheap GPS units with software for use with a computer only (no LCD screen is included)

I got mine for $100, and I think staples has some for $85

    I got the Streetfinder/GPS combo.

I like it so far. I did switch to the Street Atlas 9.0 Deluxe software though. I wanted software that spoke the directions.

    Don't buy from www.advancedgps.com
They say they will match a lower price, but they would not match any of the lower prices I found.
I went with GPSNOW since they had the 2nd lowest prices I could find, and were rated well on customer satisfaction.

I had bought v7.0 and really liked it, then I bought v9.0 Deluxe a few months ago and loved it... then I dropped the CD2 from Deluxe and ran over it with my desk chair (D'Oh!). Shattered CDs don't work too well.

True, broken CD don't work too well, but did you import all the maps to your HD? If so, then you good to go until you break your HD...
