    Newbie software help

Hey people just need your opinion on what software i should use on my mp3 car player. I have fully setup windows and its all running sweet with winamp the only problem is that my lcd is only 5 inches and it is hard as too see what is going on in windows and winamp etc. Should i keep using windows and winamp or should i use something like cobra.

try change the res as low as you can, and run winamp in double-size mode, ctrl + d

you can also change the size of the text in the playlist

Do you know VB? If so, then write it! Not too difficult to control Media Player and use Winamp playlists, with any interface or feature set you want.
Player: Pentium 166MMX, Amptron 598LMR MB w/onboard Sound, Video, LAN, 10.2 Gig Fujitsu Laptop HD, Arise 865 DC-DC Converter, Lexan Case, Custom Software w/Voice Interface, MS Access Based Playlists
Car: 1986 Mazda RX-7 Turbo (highly modded), 1978 RX-7 Beater (Dead, parting out), 2001 Honda Insight
"If one more body-kitted, cut-spring-lowered, farty-exhausted Civic revs on me at an intersection, I swear I'm going to get out of my car and cram their ridiculous double-decker aluminium wing firmly up their rump."

    Winamp 3

Have you tried playing with winamp 3? The skins are a lot more customisable (if that's a word) & I'm 95% sure someone here is making a 640X480 skin for it. Might be what your after.

And you say people actually pay money for M$ Windows?

Total re-design underway: on the whole progress is very slow as the car is taking up too much time :)

    Hey Holden_V8...

Im currently coding my own MP3 Player for my soon-to-be-setup and at the present time Im looking at the 5" NESA TFT LCD screen too, for which Im making the player for.

So when I finish coding it.. You could grab a copy and see how it looks on the TFT screen.. I would be interested to see whether it may appear too small on the screen or not..

At the moment.. Im just fixing up coding and improving it.. but its near the testing on a TFT stage.. except I havent done any graphics for it as its still in the coding/layout/planning stages. :P
