    Palm Amp help

Alright, i just got my serial cable for my Sony Clie PEG-N610C and it syncs alright with my computer, but palm amp wont sync with it. Any of you using this program and can you give me any suggestions. I am pretty sure it is going though COM 1. I have also tried Bukster to no avail. Thx for your help.

when winamp is running you should see a small green palm icon in the system tray, right click it and make sure it is "selected" to the proper port. Also note; DISABLE/CLOSE Hotsync Manager as they cannot both use the same port at the same time. Hope this helps.

Also found out some new info from testing 2 different Palm's. I did a test yesterday with a friends Palm IIIe (2mb O.S v3.1.1) and i got it to work with 67ft of cable! Yet still my own Palm IIIxe (8mb O.S v3.5) will still only work with maximum 7-10ft . I think it has to do the Palm's operating system because even the guy's who wrote PalmMMC said they heard of problems using O.S v3.5 and maybe that was one of them. Both test's were done back to back on same P233 machine Running Win95.

Don't get me wrong here, it does work with O.S v4 but on mine it only can go a distance of 7-10 feet,

"Alright, i just got my serial cable for my Sony Clie PEG-N610C "

Your using the Hotsync Cable and i believe it's only 3ft long so you shouldn't have any Problem's making it work. Did you install the "gen_pamp.dll" file that comes with Palmamp, into the Winamp plugins dir ?
After i wrote the earlier reply i flashed my Palm IIIxe running O.S v3.5 to the newer version O.S v4.1 and PalmAmp and PalmMMC both still work but not with really long cables. I can't find any O.S v3.1 Roms to flash my Palm back to the old O.S. If anyone comes across a link please pass it my way.........thanx.
Even try this one i found "Jukebox 0.83b" http://www.palmgear.com/software/sho...6&prodID=29703

hmmm...ya, the dll is in there, and i see the palmamp icon on the bottom. Let me install taht jukebox thing real quick and see what happens. Now when you start to sync the computer and palmamp, does it happen pretty quick? And i now wonder if it has something to do with my pda being a Sony. ill have to do some searches to see if anyone else has used a Clie.

Yep, sync's straight away. When my computer boots up and winamp starts that's when i start to use PalmAmp. On the main PalmAmp screen you should see what looks like a symbol of a plug, if it's disconnected you can't control WinAmp. On mine as soon as WinAmp starts you see the plug connect and the info is displayed straight away. If using PalmMMC you will see "Com" in top right hand corner, if it flashes constantly it is connected, if no t flashing it won't work.
I tried the jukebox plug and don't like it that much since you can't use the hardware buttons, and scrolling through a playlist becomes a chore.
