I was browseing Mobile Effects and I need a question answered...

I saw this link to a gallery for a front end called iDrive.
I was looking at the pics and it seems there is an A/C controls panel and I want it in a bad way. Here is the link to the pics if anyone can tell me what im looking at. http://www.mobile-effects.com/module...g2_itemId=8900

Basically my question is this, do i need to hook my pc up to my OBDII in order to goet this too work? and if so where do I get that product.

    Hello,
Thanks for your interest in our website. The pictures that you linked to are actually just some pictures of a real BMW iDrive system. This is the system that comes in many BMWs. Available only in a BMW.

The link that whodwho referenced is for a skin for the Road Runner front end interface. The skin makes Road Runner look just like the iDrive system inside a BMW. Obviously most of the custom features available in the BMW are not available within the Road Runner frontend with iDrive skin.

If you are interested in making your own system/setup that will accomplish this same feature, check out our Weblinks section. We have a link in our 'Businesses' section for MP3 Pumphouse. This is about the only aftermarket carpc solution for sale at this time for controlling your heating and ac.

Then, add the iDrive skin to Road Runner and it'll look pretty close. You can obtain the skin from the link whodwho gave, or from within the skin browser at mobile-effects.com

There was a guy (Mastero) that had talked about building an AC Control board, either USB or Serial connectible. He hasn't answered any of my posts on the subject in quite some time though (I'm seriously interested in this myself).

    The link is Here
