    Writing software

Ive looked around at various solutions to display and control my player, but couldnt really find anything I liked, so have started to write my own. The software is designed to be displayed on my Kenwood touchscreen display, which is where the interface is from, cause I wanted everything to look intergrated.

    Here are pictures:

Basically, the software plays MP3`s, uses a main list of mp3s which you can search or sort to create smaller lists. It has a feature called Favourites, where you press a button to add the playing song to your favourites playlist.

It will also launch an executable to run GPS support. I am using Sony Streetmate.

I am not looking to make any money are anything like that, but I would be happy to post the (messy) source code and binaries if anyone wants them, and you can make any changes you want.

    Opinions welcome

    Its nowhere near finished yet!

    Hmm, try these:

    Main

    playmanager

    Search

Geocities is great in that it both sucks and blows, at the same time.

Was it necessary to post 1.4MB bitmap images? Put a warning on your title for the 56k folks.

MSPaint -> Open screenshots -> Save As .jpg -> upload

Warning not needed. The site exceeded it's allocated download and was unavailable for me. Another reason to make them smaller.

OK...I think we've covered the fact that it's not polite to post huge BMP images...

    The software looks good though...

looking good..... you took my advice on the jpg's!

your using VB to develop this application? THe only suggestion I would make is to replace the standard VB style command buttons with images..... looks a little bit less 'windowish!'

Yeah, agree with you entirely about the buttons. Want to get fully up and running, then I will finish the interface last.

Right now it plays, sorts, searches, transport controls. Need to finish x-10 remote support, and favourites.
