Looking for Beta-Tester : Destinator Based

    Hi everyone,

I am developing a front-end based on Destinator, and looking for some beta-testers.

    WHATS NEW:

the main question: what is new in this front-end that the others. To put it simply, the most obvious difference is the Route Planner. Anyone who has used AutoRoute/MapPoint would agree how simple it is to plot a waypoint compared to the Destinator method. I also found Destinator a bit cumbersome when it comes to moving points (perhaps I wasn't looking at the right place) : thus CarJatra was born.

    Screenshot: CarJ_1

shows the program as it stands; note: the software is skin-based, and for the main window, most buttons can be placed at any locations.

    Screenshot: CarJ_2

RoutePlanner It also shows adding a point; as you will see, you can search on street, city and postcode simultaneously. In the example, it returned me all the matches found for Street starting with "haven" and with PostCode starting with "LS"
once added, it will appear on RoutePlanner window; you can also move the points up/down : or remove a waypoint.

    Screenshot: CarJ_3

supports multiple state buttons: for example the view is set to 3D and so does the View button (6th button from left at bottom); clicking the view button would change destinator view, and would also change the button image.

    Screenshot: CarJ_4

Managing Trips are not easy in destinator; in most cases, you can only rename some info, but not change the actual location. Not any more: with CarJatra, you can add/edit/delete all trips/ favourites and whatever else I might have missed.

    I would say about 30% of the software is done;

    will also include:
    - speed camera alerts
    - skin support
    - any reasonable request

so if you are interested, let me know.

    regards
    Rana

Definitly interested. I use freedrive on a daily basis (use it for business trips) so the route planning will come in handy and it will get good testing in a real world environment

Streetdeck is a complete frontend program, this is Destinator 3 based SatNav only!

It is an alternative to Mapmonkey, Freedrive, and GaroNav... Using the same SDK

I've been using D3 based GPS since it was first cracked by NinjaMonkey. Excuse me if you already mentioned this but Im at work and not got much time, is your version skinnable?

An OSK is a must. Also, I'd suggest losing the Windows title bar on your popups.
