    dell media experience

Does anyone know how to disable autoplay with this program? I have xp home so I cant user gpedit.msc. I also cannot find a dvd movie listing in my filetypes list.
I tried following the advice on this site
    http://forums.us.dell.com/supportfor...essage.id=1650
    but it doesnt work.

I do not want to uninstall DMX but its screwing with the dvd button on my frontend.

If DMX is installed on your machine it will automatically load itsself and powerDVD anytime you pop in a DVD.

    Any help appreciated!

    Hi fonque,

once you have the DVD inserted, navigate to the drive / VIDEO_TS folder.. then locate the file VIDEO_TS.IFO ; on mine, I can right-click on it, and choose "Open With" : which then gives me another window to choose the program to open it with, and an option "Always use the selected program to open....."

this is basically a cheat, where we are overwriting the extension with another.. if you don't need it, you can disable CD auto-play all-together from CD Properties..

PS: remembered something else; on XP, right-click on the CD, and choose properties; then select AutoPlay, and you should find "DVD Movies" in the drop-down and change the action.
