cool whay to have a fast boot with scandics on

ok now to do this you have to instasl windows 98 on the smalest partion possible like for exemple 250mb and have another partion for everithing else.
now when the pc will boot it will just scan the C: drive and will take just a few seconds .

Can i power of the pc without shuting down if i leave the scandisc on ?

you can, but scandisk is going to most likely pop up when you start the computer up again. pretty much everyone here disables scandisk. its not really necessary. if i were you i would just disable it and do a scandisk manually every once in a while.

yea i noticed " that every one disables scan disc" but it takes less then 5 secs to scan the disc and after reading one of the earlier posts about just shutting of the computer they said to never disable scandisc.

if you dont have a screen then it would be pointless cause even if schadisk did find somthing it would sit and wait for you to tell it what to do

I still have scandisk enabled....If it finds something, I notice that it is taking longer to boot, so (on my numeric keypad) I turn off numlock, press enter once, press --> twice, then hit enter again....But this rarely happens.

No, I have a button on the keypad assigned to call the ShutDownWindows() API to shut it down.
