Google earth caching

Ok, I know you can use GE offline with whatever you have cached and I also read about using it for a journey by running it through a 'tour' of the route while your online so it caches it all.
This is all very cool and does work, but here is my question:

I live in the UK so I think I could cache a large proportion of the area I want. Is there a way to make GE run through a set area to update it? Obviously I don't want to sit and scroll the area around manually!

Guys, I need to do some cache with GE and I would like to do it with the TOUR option, but how can I change the Eye Alt for the view??

Everytime I hit PLAY TOUR the zoom is like 2.5 km and if a zoom in during the tour it exits from the tour

how can i get closer view while moving in the tour in order to cache a better closer image??
