Thread: Tengo Copy. Legalities? Usefullness? Thoughts?

I'd suggest using the 5desk dictionary in 12dicts: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/w...2dicts-4.0.zip

I whipped up something in about 15 minutes using the 5desk dictionary. It only supports looking up one word for now. Profit, give this one a look and tell me if it's similar to anything you're doing, and maybe it will give you some ideas. I plan on including this version in "3733929"

Nice oeri. I see you wrote it the same way I did with word/number database. but can you really type 70 words a minute with T9. I think tengo is quick. I mean T9 uses 9 numbers where tengo only needs 6.

Nice with the words that may come up. That was going to be my next step once i get the skinability done. Which is getting close.

Thanks erorus: I may use that dictionary. Smaller then what i have but probably easier. I can also get a bigger dictionary later.


edit: i just downloaded a trial of tengo for my crappy pda. check there style database out. Almost like mine but better. Damn them.

Okay Erorus i used the 12dicts. Although i may re-code to use the tengo dictionary . Or i will write a program to pull there words out for my own use.

This version is somewhat skinable. I use RR style skin commands. Only button so far. with "qtspace" "qtenter" "qtnext" and so on for commands. currently the screen res is locked to 640x345, when i have skinable text boxes and no border then i will worry about the overall screen size.

This one is a little more functional. "next" works better and when you hit "shift" you can use next to reverse. Also i noticed with the real tengo you only need to click on the text to use it so thats what i did. Type the word when you see what you want click on it. Also "next" to select the one you want with a bold highlight. Guess i could of done underline. maybe that will be an option.

looking good. I like the auto space when you click the word. Do numbers work yet? Cant wait till everything is in place. When its done will the whole UI be done in RR?

Yah, oeri said he was going to put T9 into freeway. Maybe we can get him to make it a stand alone or plugin type. Or i can make one. I worked on quicktype this week. Made it use the screen res from the skin file. trying to get the text boxes to work now. Also need to find out what the biggest word is in my dictionary. Currently I have a 12 character limit. Also have a basic send built in to send the text to RR. When you press shift enter.

Other then that ive been busy doing other things this weekend. Should get back to working on this tonight.
