    consult

I have a USB Consult cable from Blazt.biz for my 95 nissan. Anyone know of a good reference to the consult protocol? I am hoping that the creators of ECUTalk or ConSultan could create this plugin pretty easily. Sooner or later I will do it myself if I have to, as this is a necessary function in my intel mac carpc and currently the only option is ConSultan, which has a slightly less impressive interface (and crashes on me frequently). If someone wants to use the cable to write the plugin (presumably someone with knowledge of the Consult protocol) I would be happy to lend it out or buy a new one just for this purpose.

I've been hoping that someone with a bit of Java experience might want to try and write a Nissan comms module for JDash. If your up to the challenge, I can write in a stubbed out module for the Consult protocol. Then it would simply need someone with a Nissan, and familiar with the Protocol to write the guts of the module. Try posting on the JDash main forum if you think you might wanna help out. Or know someone else who would.

    consult protocol reference

I just thought I would post this reference PDF.

Please do stub out a place for the Nissan Consult Comms module.

I will take a stab at it this summer. I am in the middle of moving and switching jobs at the moment, so give me a few weeks and I will get to it.

Also, will I need a usb lib for java to talk with my balzt usb consult cable? Or is there already one included in the project?

I know it's been a while, but I have a great excuse. A new baby girl. But, now that I'm getting a little more free time, I finally managed to put a Nissan Consult "Stub" module into JDash. It does pretty much nothing at this time, but I'm hoping a java coder will want to step up and finish it off. Seeing as I don't have a Nissan to test it with.

The code is up on the SVN server at Sourceforge.
