    Is it lockup proof?

    Thanks for any feedback!
In simple terms this software just monitors your power to your laptop, then when it detects the power has been switched off (ie taking the key from ignition) it will do what you have programmed for example

    shutdown, hibernate, restart

in essence for the laptop user this is a software shutdown controller, you just get outta your car, and the computer just uses the laptop battery while it performs the shutdown or woteva you set...

If anyone makes use of the post and pre shutdown program launcher is there a way of altering how the programs run eg: when i load a macromedia flash .exe file on resume it runs in a very small window, and it appears this software has cut off the top menu so its not possible to close it either

Maybe a parameter im missing some where...?

If anyones interested im also startin to test this using Decon to disable hardware, and renable it after machine comes out of hibernation, will post the results handy if you have problems with touch screen not working on resume which is a pain in the A**.

I can't think why it would affect the way the application launches. Basically, it only calls a launch external app function, nothing too fancy. If you want to send through your flash app, I can run a couple of tests and see where its going wrong.

Well it kind of defies the point of the software to want to use it on batteries, but I could maybe script in a "pause" button for you, but I can't think of a way to have it pause itself, as it would compromise the way the software worked.

Glad your all happy with it, again, any direct feature requests and I can add them in, drop me an email @ benlessani atat hotmail dotdot com.

How can I use this to close down some apps before hibernating?
I would like to close them nicely and not just kill them.

Thanks sorted now, im now longer using flash!

Just a quick question tho, is it possible to close applications on hibernate, and reopen at startup?

Other than that this software has been pretty solid!

    Thanks

    Same here.

    /Edit ->
Alright I've got it now. The selection of standby/hibernate/shutdown is the issue. When selecting shutdown it does not run any applications. Can this be fixed?
As a bribe I'm sending a donation with the request.

Update: I put my money where my needs are.
Paypal Donation Confirmation Number: 0W3594373F1888009 Placed on Mar. 21, 2008
Donation amount 10.00 GBP (about 20 bucks US)
    Purpose:
Bribery to fix shutcontrol to run apps when shutdown is selected instead of just hibernate.

It doesn't run apps on standby either.

I have a bigger problem though. I have to constantly reinstall this program anytime I have to force my computer to shutdown. After I reboot Shutdown control won't run anymore. Just an exception error on startup. I reinstall and everything is good again.

    Well...

Well no word from the ShutControl maker, Sent a donation of 20 bucks and no response. Also sent an email to the one on record through paypal and this site...

Looks like it's becomming abandonware now. Anybody have an alternative solution. This program has the perfect idea just a couple bugs in the implementation and if anybody has the code or knows how to reach the author, please speak up. It's almost there as THE solution for a lot of people using laptop computers and there will only be more in the future looking for something like this.
