Install a fresh copy of XP on the same partition. You won't have to format the drive... unless, of course, something really bad happened to your partition table.
So I bought carPC off of someone on this forum that came with all sorts of apps I want to keep, so I want to avoid loosing the apps and have to reformat at all costs. At startup I get this error:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
I tried to do a repair by pressing "r", and it keeps freezing after I select the windows installation that I want to "repair", unless it is really just working and take a REAL long time. Also, when I try to repair by hitting enter on the first option, there is no option to hit "r" on the second screen, just reformat or delete the partition.
Any help solving this prob would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to loose all of the stuff that came with this HD.
So just install a copy OVER the other copy? Will it mess up Centrafuse, streetdeck, iguidance, etc?
