www.girder.nl + the igor56 hardware pluggin on their site. try this instead of the irman plugins, lets you do anything you could do with a keyboard with a remote.
I am using a 40x4 character LCD module in my setup and I am having trouble configuring the winamp plugins to work together for the LCD display and IRMan input.
I want to be able to access the menu system in the lcd plugin by using my remote and IRMan plugin.
The way my menu comes up on the LCD is by pressing the 'M' key on the keyboard, now I had an IRMan plugin that supposebly allowed you to set buttons on the remote to keyboard keys. I tried to make one of the buttons use the 'M' key, but it never worked.
Now I am using another IRMan plugin, and I don't think this one allows me to set buttons on a remote as keys. I have everything else working except this, so I can use the remote to control my music and the LCD plugin displays the info correctly, but I just cant get this menu thing sorted out.
The plugins I am currently using are as follows:
LCD plugin - http://www.markuszehnder.ch/projects/lcdplugin/
IRMan plugin - http://www.evation.com/software/winamp.html
Is there a better IRMan plugin out there that has all the features the one im currently using, plus a custom key ability?

I tried using Girder to send the 'm' keypress command to winamp, but it didn't work. Any help on how to get this to work would be great!

You are setting the target of the action as the winamp main window, right? and F5 will test an action, with out the required ir device, so you can see if the action is not right, or girder didnt capture the signal from your remote correctly.

Everything I have tried is correct. I tried that F5 thing, still no go. I also tried to use the capture method, it catches when i press 'X' for example (play i think it is) but not 'M' or any other keys that arent defined by winamp to begin with.
I noticed another guy at the girder.nl forums was having the exact same problem as me, so maybe the plugins just aren't compatible.
Any thoughts?

You're not using the keyboard plugin and capturing the m to a command are you? You should be defineing the output of the command on the tabs, windows/os/command/girder/mouse/keyboard/plugins. pick the keyboard tab and the key (m in this case) should be the sentance.
