    Cobalt Video Player Demo

My car player is done, so I was going to make a free full public version of my interface available... this is just the video player

The voice recog, keyboard, vcd recognition, character lcd support has been removed for now. I had to get the basic player going first, i will re-add the other gizmo's later.

Since i did not need a feature that scanned the entire HD for videos, it doesnt exist yet. However in the real public version... it'll be there, because i realise its importance. Keep in mind i initially wrote this to suite my needs specifically... it will take some time to universalize it...

Sorry about the annoying and gay date/code thing. The original code was rock stable... but after editing and recoding... there may be bugs i have not seen yet. I have too many versions its hard to keep track of. Versions with and without LCD support, Skins. Im working on one for myself thats much more visually appealing and animated. And then there's ofcourse a universal copy for public release im working on..

Go to the page below, and click the link on the left under the Note box.

Disclaimer: This is a beta demo, use and install it at your own risk. As far as i know it works on my system, but it may not on yours. Hasnt been tested fully under XP. Place the files in the RAR archive in windows/system. Place the exe and the ini file anywhere u want. Open the ini file and make sure u indicate the location of your video's.

    Nice!!!!!

Well I can see the wait has been worth it, now the only problem is waiting till you finish the whole thin. BTW can you give us some heads up as far as what hardware ie:video cards, sound etc, that it will support. Also when you hit the fullscreen button it doesnt go fullscreen is that just a demo thing? thanks!

After DL'ing all of the files, I tried to open the Video.exe file. I received an error message saying:

    Run-time error '339':

Component 'MsgHoo32.0CX' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

What does this mean? and how do I fix it?

did u un-rar the archive included into your windows/system folder?

Unrar the contents of the "place_in_windows_system_folder.rar" in windows/system. Then run it, should work fine.

    Fullscreen

If you want to get back to video player from Fullscreen... hit ESC

maybe i should make it larger than 640x480...to 800x600 and make an option to switch between them. Im sure everyone doesnt use their systems in 640x mode.

    heres what you do....

You need to unrar the files in the ???.rar file and extract them to c:\windows\system\ directory

then put the video.exe and cobaltpc.ini file in a directory (where ever you want)

finally edit cobatpc.ini to reflect where your video files are kept ie; c:\videos\

run video.exe , click scan cd button, then hit play when you select the file you want

    hope that helps

u also forget to mention that he will need to execute these.... regsvr32.exe <*.ocx> files
just putting the files there will not make the OS know that those ocx have been registered!
