I am trying to find out a way to make some kind of buttons that stay on my desktop, just like icons, that would control my windows volume.

The reason being is I am started to use Winamp more and more as a stand alone instead of through a front-end, but I find it hard to use the slider feature that controls the volume. So, if I had some big icons on the desktop to control the main windows volume I could just use those instead and drive safely
