Any updates? I've also written a front-end in delphi, but since i've only coded the exact features I want it won't ever have things like camera support etc. I use bassplayer for audio, (http://www.un4seen.com/) and DSPack for video. I don't want/need dvd support so I haven't bothered with that. To update music I created a iTunes style application which connects to the car once it has connected to the wireless network, then sync's databases & uploads music/video files automatically using TCP/IP Stream. Saves me having to load playlists etc using a touchscreen.

I also couldn't be stuffed with the effort of having multiple skins, so the skin is hard-coded into the app too. It only takes a few hours for me to manually update it, and i've only changed skin maybe twice :P Maybe one day i'll code changable skin stuff into it, allowing it to use RR skins or similar. Its just so much work, and don't even mention flash skinning haha

I use MapMonkey embedded in a TPanel for GPS.

I just starded creating my own frontend in delphi 2006, my main focus will be on great performance and nice graphics.
The problem is that i don't YET have a carpc....but i'm working on that to.
Is there anyone interested in working with me for this project, it will all going to be opensource.
I have a lot of ideeas of what to do and also how to do them, so in my oppinion it's going to be a good frontend.
Talk is cheap... so i will go on with working on the app.

I need only a tiny suggestion. I need a very fast database which will hold information about library, artists, songs, ratings and the fastest i could think of was mysql, what do you think ?
Is there another option for this ?

    Thank you for your time.
Where do you come from ? Germany ? I also work with a friendly programmer on a frontend in delphi.
