I'd be interested in seeing that code. Any chance you'd post it here?

By the way, your frontend looks a little *cough* familiar.

Hehe guess I am not very creative in flash and why repeat something when it already looks spot on...

Sure - the whole thing will be open source as soon as I've finished the software. At the moment, everything is in separate projects but as soon as it is all integrated and working I'll release an alpha with sourcecode.

As for the spectrum analyser - it currently sets a range of values which is the height of your spectrum analyser - e.g. 5 bars or 100 bars - it is adjustable through an ini file or the registry! Anyway, it can either collect its spectrum analyser values from the soundcard or from a special "vblink" winamp visualisation plugin

Perhaps someone could help me on a little problem - does anyone know how to control flash through a keypad. I guess i could try and capture the settings through vb, or I could kinda try and use flash itself to capture it.

    I dunno

    Cheers Gutter

Your frontend looks good. I don't know why you say you're bad at flash. The nifty spinning world and spectrum analyzer in mine was ripped out of some other flash movie. Like you said, why reinvent the wheel.

I'll look into VBLink. I remember a discussion about it a few weeks ago, but didn't think I wanted it. How foolish I am.

What do you mean by "control flash through a keypad"? You can have flash capture the keystrokes, which is how I do it, or have VB do directly which would be more efficient. The only reason I do it the first way is because when flash detects the keystroke, it can do whatever it needs to do graphically, then tell the backend to do what needs to be done. Talking to VB from Flash is much more functional than vise versa.

    Thumbs up

That would work wicked cool with the Xenarc touchscreens a few of us are getting. Keep up the good work. I can't wait till the Flash interface is done.

Well since we're playing show me yours ...

My program is directed towards people with small tft's and num pads/touch screen.

Its not designed to look good, its designed to be easy and fast to use. And since im no good at graphics its most likely going to stay this way.

Most people dislike the extrem use of color, but the simple fact is it works well both in the sun and in the dark.

I have just added remote control via (wireless)pocketpc to it since i use the same interface in my home and my girlfriend isnt really into all this tech stuff. With the remote is somewhat easier for her to deside what to listen to or what to watch.

Since this program is always being changed i havent released it.

if anyone is interested drop me a pm, and i will update the installer and write a small readme for it.

Here is a shot of my work in progress. I have 2 more screens for other functions as well. THo it's not VB, it is AutoPlay Menu Studio.

the lighting menu button is what the buttons look like when moused over and displays a status message at the bottom of the screen.

Native MP3 and ID3 handling within Indigo Rose is about all that I can see that is missing from a great product, especially if you know very little about VB (and don't have the tools for developing VB anyway.

2k1civic.com - Will AutoPlay Menu Studio allow me to create "windows" in the screen which will show live feed from video cameras (such as a rear-view camera).

What happens when you click GPS or MP3 on your menu - it launches Winamp? and then moves to the background? Does the Autoplay menu stay up as a kind of shell until you tell it to go away?

    Thanks
