That interface looks great!
It would be perfect for a carpc, but I have a feeling it wouldn't install without a UMPC.
Please post your results!
Just saw this today and didn't see it posted anywhere else...
I know M$ Origami has been talked about before but this is an install for Windows (Vista only. Sorry, XP users) to get the "Origami Experience" on their PC without the need for a UMPC.
Here is the link to download it.

I'm not home to try it out but I am very interested in trying this out as it might be a pretty slick interface for our Carputers.
Here is a link to "Test Drive" it via flash but it's pretty limited.

I'll post back later tonight to tell how well it works.
Enjoy!!!!
EDIT: Hmmm. Maybe I spoke too soon but it seems you must have a UMPC as well. I'm still trying it when I get home...![]()

Yeah. It's a no go without a UMPC.Oh well...
actually you can install this without a umpc, i have it up and running now.
You need ORCA to edit the msi file and strip out the os and hardware checks.
You can get orca from here
its originally apart of a 300mb download from MS, apart of some sdk, but the link above lets you download just the orca so you dont have to get all the other crap u dont need.
edit: once you get orca, open the msi file with it, look for LaunchCondition and it will usualy have a line somewhere with a list of OS's , just delete the whole line. Look in all the tables for anywhere it says a specific OS then delete the value for the OS. save and restart the installer.

i have joost invites, just hit me up for one.
Thanks liquid_smoke, I'm going to pick up Vista tonight and I can't wait to try it out.
Good deal...I already have Orca installed from merging multiple CD's to a single DVD for installs.
I'll try again when I get home.
Thanks again!
BTW. Post some pics of it if you can. I'm interested to see what it looks like. How does it run?
What is your system specs on your carpc? I've heard Vista has pretty high system reqs.
For my carpc, I'm using a dell latitude D610 with an Intel Mobile 1.60Ghz processor and 512meg of ram. You think that will work ok?
Wow, this is awesome. I'll have to give this a try tomorrow.
AMD XP 2600+/512MB RAM/120GB hard drive
Opus 150W/DVD/GPS/7" Lilliput TS/802.11g/Bluetooth
Installed.
-GPSSecure- - GPS Tracking
-AltTabber2.2.2- - Handy touchscreen utility.
It does work. But it is a little buggy. Mine crashed after about 5 to 10 minutes of constantly clicking on stuff. I'm running it on my main computer ATM but I won't have an issue with it on the carputer when I get around to it. The graphics are a little blocky but that may be due to the high res on my home display.
I'll mess with it more tonight and post some pics and results.
very interesting, does anyone know if your allowed to add your own programs, while keeping it embedded
I wonder who will be the first to edit buttons, layout, skins..etc![]()
