    Typing software?

Does anyone know of some software that will let me type with a remote on a virtual keyboard that will work like you would type on a cellphone?

Check out the Thumbscript article in the June 2001 issue of Nuts and Volts. If you don't have it on hand, you can order a back issue. Some libraries carry Nuts and Volts too!

    Also look at ThumbScript.com.

You may have to build your own interface if you want to keep it cheap, but this will point you in the right direction.

On a default XP install you should have a file called OSK.exe that is an on screen virtual keyboard. Just goto start->run->osk and that should do it.

I would suggest Onscreen keyboard - If you don't have winxp you could try girder (girder.nl) there you can find a plugin with which you can type like on cellphones.

sweet jesus, did you see the price of "their" touchpad thumbscript device? $140, and do you want to know what it is? a Fellowes touchpad, which retails for $20.

what i'm wondering, is there a way to control osk w/just the arrow keys and a select key?

    I don't want a mouse, don't want a keyboard.

I think the majority of their cost is for the software. That's why I suggested building your own.
