ive read some things about vista having some new sleep mode that goes into sleep mode but if it loses power goes into hibernation. can anyone confirm this? because if so i think id like to use vista in my carpc
yes, its called Hybrid Sleep
This is from the vista help file
Sleep saves any open documents and programs to memory, and then puts your computer into a low-power state. Hybrid sleep saves any open documents and programs to memory and to your hard disk, and then puts your computer into a low-power state. An advantage of hybrid sleep is that if a power failure occurs, Windows can restore your work from your hard disk. If a power failure occurs when your work is saved only to memory, your work is lost.

because i have this problem some times when i come out of sleep mode. i'll touch my screen and no matter which button i press (always the first thing i touch), makes the computer restart. its really werid and if i try to make it hibernate when the power button is pressed when i resume it will freeze if i press any buttons every time.
