The NT based OS'es never had an msconfig, that was only in the 9x based ones. You can disable services in XP
Where did msconfig go in XP? Also, can I change it so that Winamp is the shell, like I could in 98?

-------------------------------------
Windows2000/NT4/XP
Run RegEdit and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon
In the list of values you should see: Shell "explorer.exe" set the shell variable to "<PATH>\cloud9ine.exe". If "shell" is not there, create a new string value as "shell". Repeat the same procedure for at this point in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Winlogon
Close RegEdit and reboot your PC.

IF I changed the shell to Winamp, how could I change it back to explorer? Could I have one user's shell be Winamp (for everyday use), and Administrator's shell be explorer (for maintenence)?

while running winamp as the shell, hit crtl-alt-del and choose task mangeler. Then file-new(run) and type explorer and you will get back your desktop.

good thinking.....
and yes, you can have a seperate shell as admin user to another user...... but why would you? I hate having to log into desktops, let alone mp3cars!
