If we could get an itunes style playback/display with artwork and playlists and a nice gps I think this would be complete for me.

This might be a codec problem, I can play DVD's ok.
Have read of this page http://www.athomemedia.co.uk/help/knowledge/codecs.html

There are some codecs listed on there, aslo right click on the mediate tray icon and goto Formats/Video and ensure you have VOB file format checked.

Regarding album art and integrating other GPS software, I beleive the next release should incorporate these. Hopefully @homemedia aren't far off releasing their next version.

    major new version of mediate

    Hi all,

It's been a while since we posted here but we're happy to say we have a new version of mediate ICE available for download. This version adds the following features:

    • graphic equaliser support
    • screen scaling/offset adjustment support
    • music tag database & reading support
    • music browsing by genre/artist/album/tracks
    • support for unicode media filenames
    • support for restoring previous media file/folder on restart
    • improved support for Windows Vista
    • numerous minor bugfixes and tweaks

Full release notes may be found here: http://www.athomemedia.co.uk/downloa...te/readme.html

    Download (New installation) here:
    http://www.athomemedia.co.uk/downloa...ICE-1.6.13.exe

    Download (Update existing installation) here:
    http://www.athomemedia.co.uk/downloa...ate-1.6.13.exe

Please download the new version and let us know what you think... we're still working hard on adding new features and have improved our release process so should be able to post new builds much more regularly from now on.

    Thanks,

    @home media

i just took a quick glance at the updated version, and thanks for the unicode support. Although, there are problems with displaying the fonts properly; most of my filenames just display a bunch of squares. But the files can be read so i'm happy enough

Maybe it's because my Windows regional settings are set to Japanese? Does this frontend display unicode filenames properly when set to english for regional setting?

Also took a quick look at the equalizer settings, and I think it'd be great if you had a few general presets the user could select.

Great progress on this frontend. Keep it up.

akberpaf, I don't know the official answer but I think you should be able to embed anything you like.

I've embedded an application called "My Mobiler", which gives me remote control of my PDA.

I currently use this to run TomTom software on the carpc and also give myself internet access via the PDA but displayed and controlled on the CarPC.

I've got some screen shot pics somewhere - I'll postthose when I can.
