So how do you make a plugin?

No problems. Looks like a nice fast engine there. Looking forward to the skins that people will produce for it.

Do you have any specifications for the plugin format?

    8 chars

Perhaps you should just check for anything with a space in between?

Thanks. I've got a nice 6" 4x3 screen connected via digital DVI. It's pin sharp but its only 640x480. Still, can't complain - I got an EXCELLENT deal when I bought it

    mediate ice update released

mediate ice 1.6.1 is now available from the URL in the first post. This fixes the issues people have reported with importing license files plus a couple of other bugs we noted, and also adds support for 640x480 resolution as requested.

If you have already installed mediate ice 1.6.0, just install this over the top (no need to reinstall) - all your previous preferences will remain intact.

Also, to those that have asked we are working on an SDK for plugin developers, or at the very least some documentation for release soon.

Enjoy, and please keep posting your comments.

One more thing: what navigation s/w are people in Europe using? iGuidance seems popular in NA/Canada but is discontinued for Europe. Just trying to decide which would be the best one to integrate into mediate ice first - ideally something which suits both Europe and NA.

I'm using iGuidance 2.1.2 for UK. Destinator (Freedrive and Map Monkey) are popular.

Navigator 6 would be my choice, Ver 7 (due shortly)looks promising especially if they can sort out the resolution issue.

I will be trying this when back on my own PC

    It looks pretty

You defo could do with speaking with Either Directions or Navigon about adding either some built in GPS, or via external modules.

GPS in most peoples eyes is a pre-requisit for a CarPC
And the usual UK & EU route of Destinator based GPS is getting a little tired now as they are stringing out the release of Dest6

You might also want to post something up in the UK forums - www DOT digital-car DOT co DOT uk

The only option for us in Greece is Destinator because of the map coverage. The only worthy map provider for Greece is NGI and NGI maps are only available for Destinator. All other map providers cover only Athens and a few other major cities.
The road is long but we are getting there.

It would be pretty cool to have it flick to GPS under the media player rather than have a vis showing through.

But obviously you'd need to have a working GPS solution for that

Directions' soon to be released Navigator 7.0 should come with all of EU, an SDK and a decent carPC interface
