Ah ha - i will give that a go as soon as my XP installation discs turn up.
Ive been waiting for them for nearly 6 weeks, and the supplier of the G4 keeps on saying that he will post them out next week, but next week never comes. He reckons hes waiting for version 1.3 of centrafuse to come out so he can ship that out at the same time. But i didnt purchase CF, and am geeting really annoyed with this as i want to do a complete re - install before installing the G4 into the jeep.

    My gripes for the day

    Cheers for the reply

    James

    So then...this isn't a SD bug but rather a user hardware/software issue.

Since that appears to be the case, I need to hear from others who have reported this problem. If your issue seems to be the same as djjerdog's please post your results.

It seemed the issue started around the time after upgrading SD, but then I was noticing that the OS was taking a lot longer then usually to start up so I figured maybe it was more OS related. After doing a repair install on the OS the thing fires right up and StreetDeck is working fine.

After reinstalling Windows XP and Streetdeck including applying all the updates, I found that the video played upside down initiallly, then after doing nothing else but rebooting windows for the first time after the installation; the video now plays the right way around. I dont know whether the slow down issue was there in the first place but at least now the video plays around the right way.

Strange that this has been rectified this way on more than one XP installation. I still think its SD related, given the number of computers / people this has happened too. Plus the fact that the video is played inverted only within SD, but OK in other Media players.

    My two cents
