Have you selected the proper input in XM settings for your sound card?

Yes, the proper settings are selected. Yes, i'm able to unmute/mute line in and wave out using the windows audio mixer.
Let me play around with it more and i'll provide more info.
It's erratic. Sometimes XM will stop and allow me to play music, but then when i go back to XM, it wont switch to it. Other times, XM will play and music wont (since the waveout is muted) and XM wont stop playing no matter which song i tell it to play. At least, XM should stop playing in this case.
Any updates on the bluetooth GPS issue from my other post?
I have a similar issue in another thread, that once I select XM the only way to stop it is to toggle the always mute checkbox in the settings. Otherwise when I switch modules XM continues to play. However when I switch from any other module to XM the music stops and XM plays it is when I try to go from XM to anything else.
Yay, im not the only one then that has this problem.
This is not just a Vista problem. I'm able to recreate it here on my laptop now that I have an XM Direct and USB adapter.
I'm going to update the thread title to remove vista from it so we can be sure this is pushed up on the priority list as it's VERY annoying.

I have talked with chuck on this issue and knows the issue behind this but we are working on a work around that will work for all sound cards. No ETA yet.
Sounds good, I'll be looking out for the fix.
Just want to add that even though this issue might not be exclusive to Vista, the reason that it doesn't work in Vista is a totally different reason than it not working in XP. Vista's sound routing is totally different than XP. In XP, you have a playback mixer with all available channels for listening, and a recording mixer with all available channels for input. In Streetdeck, the satellite radio settings give you a choice of all your available Playback channels... you choose the one your sat radio is plugged into, and SD knows to mute/unmute that channel when entering/exiting the sat radio module.
Vista's mixer, however, is totally redesigned. Because of it's new design, the choice for which playback level to mute/unmute doesn't even show up as an option in SD's sat radio settings. This is because in Vista, your Playback choices are whatever different soundcards you have available to your system. In XP, the playback mixer has just the playback levels related to ONE soundcard showing at any one time. In Vista, you choose what soundcard to output all sound to, but then you have to then go into the properties of that sound card to get to the different playback levels. They are buried, so SD can't "see" them.
I will post some screenshots shortly to further illustrate my point.
