The log indicates you have mappiont installed. You shoudl open up the registration file and change all the file paths in it to point to where you copy of mappoint is installed then run it.

OOOOOh! that one, sorry brain fart. , I have already installed it. It creates a bunch of "streetdeckmappoint.connect" files in registry, but the files have no values, or only say "connect class" in the data columns. I am not sure what file I need or what the values should be. I seached for a file that had file location names in it , to change them to where mappoint is installed, but couldn't find any.

Sorry, a bit new to this stuff.

Do a search and replace in mappoint.reg for
    C:\\Program Files\\StreetDeck\\Maps\\MapPointControl.ocx

    replace with
    C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Mappoint\\MappointControl.ocx

or whereever your mappointcontrol.ocx is located and import the file.

I just figured out how to open and edit the registration.zip file. However I do not have any idea how to change this, to make it work. I wouldn't even know where to start.

Ok, I found and changed the file locations to the mappoint folder. and I also looked to see if I had the file in the maps folder and it was there too. I ran SD and it still is doing the same thing. I try rebooting my comp but no change, so I ran you APP again and here is what it says now...

OK, I have tried every conceivable install order and found one method that kinda works. I first un-installed SD, Mappoint, and deleted all registry entries I could find under Mappoint and Streetdeck. I then ran the setup.exe from the SD install files on my hard drive. Then I went online and downloaded the 1.1.0.0 update, and installed it. I then ran the registry.zip. With this, I can now run the mappoint test app without it crashing, and it now works. I can see the map in the corner and I have no warning messages. When I open SD the navigation button is there! But when I click on it, it say initializing navigation for about 2 minutes, then closes SD, and pops up two error messages saying that SD needed to close and I should call your support phone number during business hours. So I ran a search for the SD APP log, but I can't find any new log files to see what the problem is. Please let me know what I should do next.

    found the latest log file...

Hey, I found the log file and attached it. Also, I opened mappoint manually and checked the com addins and found the streetdeck addin was unchecked, I checked the box and closed the window. but when I reopened it, it was unchecked again, and it has no load behavior. The reason I bring this up is, In a previous install the box was checked and it had a load behavior something like "load at startup". I hope this helps.
