GPS Rikalin 6010 HP7400 Laptop with Vista Business o/s & Europe edition SD 1024 RAM 80GB HD, Built in soundcard, wifi, nothing else

Installed sd yesterday full version setup and everything fine except Mappoint does not show on sd (just says (UNBOUND #4) where the button is have setup my GPS Rikalin 6010 correctly as it works when i load mappoint Manually.

When i gesture N it says; Navigation Module is not loaded

Navigation does not work in Vista yet, unfortunately. I don't know how easy it is to fix (I would imagine that it should be a very simple fix to go into the code and re-direct SD to the proper Nav location in Vista, but what do I know) but right now, it does not work.

When i open streetdeck the primary screen shows Unbound #4, if i gesture 'N' then it says The navigation component is not installed. (but is is)

i can open New European Map.ptt on its own and all works fine, i did have this problem in Vista and someone on the forum advised does not work with Vista so i downgraded to XP (and still the same problem)
it seems to me that i may have a faulty Disc.?

Please update to the newest release (1.1.0.0). Even though this newest release might not directly address the issue that you are having, we will need to know if the functionality has changed.

Also, I will be merging this threa as this issue has already been reported.

EDIT: I noticed that you opened up the same bug report twice, is there a reason for this? Next time, if you have an update for a bug report that you have already opened, please update the already created bug report. Opening a new bug report creates more work for us on the back end as we're having to track down an already known issue and are having to track it in two different bug reports.

I Have upgraded to 1.0.0.1 and no change but i have the bug report attached

Navigation works fine for me in Vista, I installed it from the SD DVD then upgraded to 1.0.9.8 and the GPS button was there and everything with full functionality. However when I downloaded the trial 1.0.9.8 and installed it on an XP machine to test the DVD funtionality or in my case lack there of, I got the same UNBOUND #4 button as this guy did even when I upgraded it to 1.1.0.0. Just throwing this in as it might be an issue with the current release and a freshly installed system. Hope this helps.

aceclark - how did you install streetdeck initially?

from the dvd or off if the demo?

I just received the full version of streetdeck (european version)
I also get the unbound #4 button error.
I am running XP (not Vista).

I tried installing the software on 2 machines, both gave the "unbound #4 button" error.

Is there perhaps an issue with the supplied european version of mappoint?
I cannot seem to start it up within or outside of Streetdeck:
there are no icons in the startup/program menu nor is there an exe in the installdir.

I installed fully from the supplied DVD and also tried the upgrade to 1.0.9.8 without any result.

Also a manual install of the mappoint software didnt give me any startable program...

The software obviously is not working "out of the box" :censored:

Please provide a solution as I need the navigation next week.

It means MapPoint is not registered on the system.

This happens with all versions of mappoint and usually happens if Streets and Trips or some other version of MapPoint was installed prior to installing StreetDeck.

You can try renaming mappoint.dat to mappoint.exe then running mappoint.exe /RegServer, but that doesn’t always work.

Please report back with your findings.

Ran the mappoint.exe /RegServer.
Didn't report an error but didn't solve the unbound #4..
using the renamed mappoint.exe will launch the aplication, which works fine on its own, so some progress is made.

I uninstalled and reinstalled streetdeck twice (one with the mappoint.exe and one with mappoint.exe renamed back to mappoint.dat)but the unbound #4 remains...

Is it a streetdeck issue now?
