What version of StreetDeck is this bug report for?
1.0.6.3
Please give a basic description of the issue here.
Left arrow key has 'back' function associated with it
Is the systemt that is listed in your CarPC specs under your user name the same system where you encountered this bug?
yes
If no, please describe your system here.
Please provide any relevent information regarding the issue you have encountered.
I'm trying to navigate SD via keyboard.
I can use left and right arrows to navigate, but, the left arrow will also serve as a 'back' function. It should only do left, not also back.
Example 1: In Music module, if 'select artist' is selected and the left arrow is pressed, you will go back to home screen.
Example 2: From home screen, if you press "More..." and then hit the left arrow, you will go back to the home screen.
Example 3: From home screen, if you press "More..." and then, for example, highlight the "Pictures" button (2nd row, furthest to right). Now, press the left arrow twice and you will have the 'External Apps' button highlighted (2nd row, furthest to left)..so far so good. But, if you now hit the left arrow again, you will be back at the home screen.
Desired functionality would be not to associate a 'back' function with the left arrow key.

thanks. to be clear though - that doesn't change the fact that this is a bug ;-)

Hrm, I see the frustration, but I am having a hard time seeing a fully customizable program, not coming pre-customized the way each end user wants it as a bug
i can understand that techy, but think of it: the left arrow key does 'back'...i don't think that's very intuitive and i haven't dealt with any other application that exhibits this same functionality.
there are bigger things to get fixed, but i thought i'd log it.
i think things like this will get more interesting once people start writing apps for the new rotary encoder that mp3car is (will be?) selling. i won't be the only one making noise on small stuff like this then ;-)
a much more common ( in Microsofts world) key for back is the backspace button...

:-) those crazy kids in Redmond...that almost makes sense!a much more common ( in Microsofts world) key for back is the backspace button...![]()
This is by design. When pressing the left button when already at the most left button, it will go back to the previous module. Some of the remotes we support only have a limited number of keys. i.e. the Infill remote. and do not have a dedicated back button.

aha..if it's done for the Infill remote, then it all makes sense why it's by design. Thanks Chuck..too bad for me, but the keyboard mapping (haven't looked at it yet) sounds like it's a workaround.
I'm still curious how this, and my other report, will play out re: rotary encoder and the limited number of assignments one can make to such a device (perhaps you guys have that figured out already).
