Has anyone got SD to successfully import your own custom POI's?
I was able to recreate the issue. I have contacted our engineers and the issue will hopefully be fixed in the next update.

sadly, they require a membership, and given the above issues (and apparently no resolution yet), I'm reluctant to try. But something for the SD team to consider perhaps?
Is it possible to somehow go online and download POI's to use for offline use? This is my main issue because the offline (local) POI's I have found to be horrible, of about 20+ searches of big name stores I have found 1 actually come up to date.

HOWEVER, I do need to keep reminding myself that this is really only a v1.1 product, and with that in mind, it is quite an accomplishment. I think we are all just expecting too much too soon. I spent some time tonight trying to import custom POI's, with no success. I have version 1.1.1.0 installed. I followed the instructions GoC set out earlier in the thread. Dragging it onto the SD window, it was recognized and said SD imported it. However, when I searched the custom POI's they weren't there, including the local one I added.
Trying to import it from the 'import poi' screen didn't work at all. SD didn't recognize any of the csv files I had on my flash drive. I used the example file and added my house. No luck.
On the upside, I found a website that will translate one type of gps file into another, including csv's and Microsoft Street and Trips 2006.

So using the the second site http://www.gps-poi-us.com/index.html that DAE51D posted earlier, at least it looks like there's a way ahead for red light cameras and other POI databases. Unfortunately, the one file I downloaded didn't have all the required fields. The airport POI file was only a dollar, but it only had the names of the airports and the lat/long. Translating it didn't work, but it was worth a try. I guess the next thing to do is figure out which file format (Garmin, Tomtom, Magellan, Navman) has all the information SD needs.
I would be happy just to get the manual made excel file to work, I haven't updated to 1.1.1.0 yet but if your saying the custom poi import still doesnt work i will just hold off for another update i guess.
