    Track number order?

When I browse my music library by Album, it lists the songs on an album alphabetically. Is there a way to sort it by track number in the id3 tag?

The next patch to StreetDeck will queue songs exactly in the order they are added. There will be no sorting.

Does that mean that I have to add the tracks from an album individually to the queue? In other words, I can't just add an album to the queue, and have the tracks then show up in the queue in track order?

You can add an entire album to the queue. In doing so, it will keep them in the proper order.
    I think that's what you're looking for...
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Thanks, DP. That's kind of what I was looking for. Unfortunately "proper order" to me is the order of the tracks by track number, not alphabetically by song name. The filenames of my audio files are the song name, and not the track number followed by the song name. Every other software I've ever used reads the tags and automatically queues the tracks in track order (by reading the track #'s in the tag) when you add an album to the playlist. Unless I'm missing something, SD doesn't look like it does that. It looks like it's looking at the tracks alphabetically. If you have your file names in the format where the track # precedes the song name, alphabetically would work fine for album mode.

There's no way on earth I can go in and rename all 9,000 of my mp3 files. I already spent three days making sure they were properly and consistently tagged. So again, I could be missing something... but it doesn't look like SD is reading the track #'s from the id3 tag. Is this correct?

Ok, I'll once again take the lack of response as the fact that the answer is one I'm not going to like.

I guess my quest for the right F/E for me continues. Everything else about SD seemed really promising, but if it doesn't read the id3 tags, that's a huge shortcoming for my purposes.

All I can say is that I know that the SD team has said they are completely redoing music for the next release, and I think DP has had access to that beta. I think his post was in reference to the upcoming release that you haven't used yet. I don't think you can correlate what he said to what you are looking at...

isn't this possible by changing the preference in the music settings? i don't have it available right now, but one of those settings has 2 options to the likes of "by artist" and "by track name"...'by artist' is the one you want.

I went through exactly the same thing, and that fixed it for me, BUT I do name my songs via track first, so don't know if it'll work in your case.

@Liquid: ok, I'll definitely give the next release a try and see if that is improved. I definitely would like it to be because I do like SD otherwise.

@S4per: unfortunately the only choices in the music settings are by artist, or song title. Not track #.

..and what happens when you choose 'by artist'? again - my 'luck' might be based on how my tracks are named, but when i chose 'by artist' (thanks for the memory refresh) it works like I (and you) want it to.
