The routing engine is licensed from Micro$oft. If you take issue with the routing (as many do, rightfully so), then the issue is with Micro$oft, not StreetDeck.

I assume that since it's a known issue, if it could be fixed, then by the 1.0.8.1 release it probably would have been fixed by the SD development team. It's not like the development team has neglected the software, given the recent major update, and the impending release of the BT hardware/software. ...Yes, the routes are wonky at times. I've had to deal with it, too.
However, the routing is accurate and can be tweaked (within reason) using the road speeds tip mentioned above.

Adjusting the road speeds helps TREMENDOUSLY with routing...so much so that I think SD should preconfigure/have a wizard to set up more reasonable roadspeeds at install...such a simple step would probably avoid quite a bit of dissatisfaction with the routing.

Never mind that those very words have been said multiple times before regarding the navigational routing of StreetDeck.
It's not like the navigational issues of StreetDeck aren't anything that's a surprise. I'm certain that if those that are having routing issues would attempt the same route with MapPoint or Streets&Trips, they would have the same issues...

I 100% agree. I had to jack up my desire to use tollroads for StreetDeck to even route me onto Dallas North Tollway... Never mind that I can throw a rock and almost hit the damn thing!

Had the same problem first time I used it. Of course, I ignored the directions and got on the DNT anyway, and was rewarded by listening to it try to reroute me onto Preston EVERY exit for the entire length of the tollway. That was fun.

Did you at least have a better voice installed than Microsoft Anna (the default)?

For the most part the nav is very accurate. Finding addresses can be a bit challenging. City driving is pretty frusturating especially with the reroute function. If your machine isnt up to par....the rerouting will already be void by the time it gives you new directions. Most nav systems have this problems though. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 for reliability id give sd a 7.

I agree not 6 more pages of nonsense. We all know SD is not able to fix this and so they are going to release a new mapping engine (NOT FREE and NOT SOON).

How hard will it be to integrate iguidance into SD as I own it it would be a lot easier for me. At least the SD development team should consider this. i.e. allow for 3rd party GPS solutions to be embedded into SD.

My main question is can we not all get togather and put some pressure on whoever it takes to rectify mappoints bugs. Maybe SD can give us a contact... and please don't just say microsoft coz they are like a mini country.

I have my roadspeeds adjusted but still doesn't seem to work for me I must say thou... I love the integration of mappoint and SD its nice....

You can embed windows with the SDK in 1.0.8.1 there is an example on the wiki of how to do this.

really? wow thats awesome... now who wants to be a hero and give this a shot? my tech skills are limited.....

god_of_cpu since iguidance is the most popular nav software on this forum specially with the open source programs..... is there anyway in the next release it can be an option to integrate iguidance?

Give them a break. I'm not sure you realize it, but these guys are working their freaking asses off for us. There is a reason we are using SD: It is the most polished thing out there as of now. Give them a while, they'll come up with a solution. First, there are other things that are bothering more than a handful of people that they have to take care of first.
