SD Lite users - what are you using for navigation? and how?

    Hi,
Just want to know what SD lite users are doing for navigation? are you using your own copy of mappoint and what version? or are you using some other software, and how are you integrating it?

Also some comments in terms of how do you find it?

    Thanks

Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

You're not getting it, are you?
The map data in StreetDeck IS MapPoint2006.
It's the routing engine. It's the map data. It's the POI database.

So yeah, I'd say it integrates prety @#($*&#@$!!! well...
You'll still have your routing issues.

Your only other option is to use another nav software. If you're going to go that route, you won't be able to integrate it to streetdeck easily (if at all). Exit SD and load the other Nav software I suppose.

I use MapPoint 2006 Europe, and integration works good. Only thing that I don't like is the performance. I thing MapPoint like CPU power... I have a VIA EPIA M10000, 512Mb mem, XP pro. And when adding a route in MapPoint, SteetDeck is performing very slow, specialy when it has to re route to destination.

If I run a other Frontend with Destinator I have very good performance.

Its not your CPU, its the GPU that's lacking performance on your motherboard with SD.

So you say, if I use a external Gfx card I get better performance?

Potentially, but even still, the M10000 is not a power house by any stretch.

Carputerwiz....it seems to me you're asking where to pick up a copy of MapPoint? I hope this is not the case...
