Spend a little less on crack and $200 might not seem so steep.

You can spend $2k on an Eclipse deck with not even half the capabilities of a carputer. $200 for the software to pull it all together is a BARGAIN.

Uh 93 is a 4th gen tart tart, FYI its the only year you can buy a 4th gen with speed density, instead of maf it uses map.

Why would you want that? Well after your reply Im not going to waste my time trying to explain it to someone of your calibur.

Oh and Im sorry we all cant drive a nice lexus like the streetdeck guys and live fat like you obviously do, but since your so rich maybe you can toss $50 my way towards my streetdeck fund? I mean since you obviously have so much money that you conisder a rare 4th gen camaro as a beater.

I really wouldn't mess with this guy. He sounds pretty tough. He might break out the Sword of 1,000 Truths and pwn all of us.

    "Worst thread Ehverrr!"

What's MMORPG? Massive Mullet Online Role Playing Geeks?

I'm sure we're all very impressed with his virtual stature in fantasyland.

I'd like to get a look at him and his business that is thriving so well he can't afford $200 for a piece of software.

Maybe if you read my post where I linked my website you would have jumped on their real quick and see your talking to a pioneer in the gamming industry so feeding me all this BS about getting paid does nuthing for me.

I barely make any money at all from my 2.5year time investment, my baby, and oh did you see I have my own forums where I constantly offer free tech support?

Did you see Im a one man team doing the job of at least 5 people including all my own web support / design / sales / tech support / and so much more. Even my website has a ton of time in it, its the first and only website to run phpbb with cat heirarchy and paypal ipn mod custom modded by me.

I understand "Chuck" wants to eat but god damn leave some for the rest of us, "chuck" must be a big man with a big appetite. How much you guys makin off this stuff? $60k + each a year ? Must be nice. Me I would rather make less and be praised for what I do instead of charging a premium so my pockets can get fat. And the people you speak of that got shafted into a system that already came preloaded with your premium price software are not even in this equation considering my whole argument is about the DIY community now are they? Nope didnt think so. Charge them $100000000000 for all I care.

My name over there is burners, Im somewhat of an icon in the mmorpg world but not trying to come on here boasting but instead trying to make a point that if you think you are bsing someone about what it takes to desing software your barking up the wrong tree.

Heres that link again cause obviously you missed it

Dude...so not impressed. First of all, just because you aren't capable of making a living off of your software, you shouldn't judge other people for wanting to. Second, I'm not sure where in BFE you live, but $60K for somebody of Chuck's (and some of the Streetdeckers') caliber is not really close to market value for software dev. So thanks for demonstrating how out of touch with reality you are with commercial software development.

PS...your invisible girlfriend is calling you.

They are playing in a completely different ballpark. Lowering the price of Streetdeck to anyone who puts a DIY computer in their car will destroy their profit margin. How do you answer when a company says, "Hey! You just licensed this thing with hardware and software for $1,500 and you're selling it to anyone with a PC for $50?!"

Plus, if you actually pay for software, a DIY setup is truly a labor of love. Let's say you really aren't a DIY'er but you really want a PC system in the car. You drop $100 bucks for iGuidance and then install Road Runner. You muck with the settings, try to get the bluetooth to work, try to get your XM to work, try to get your OBDII to work, yadda, yadda, yadda. Even if you don't value your time that much, you'll put in $100 worth of effort pretty quickly.

$200 for a plug and play front end that does pretty much everything doesn't sound too bad at all.
major time investment with other front ends, compared to something that works virtually outta the box..

"In it for the community" huh?

Contributing members of a community don't introduce themselves by coming onto a forum for commercial software and telling the developers (and everyone running it) that they're... Let's see how did you put this? "F@#$%@$^ing Nuts?" And then you post in their forum that you intend to copy their software? Lift their GUI elements and layout into a frontend you didn't build, and claim that you "created it"? And they're nuts?

Trolling = "In it for the community". That's a laugh.

I don't care if you can clone Streetdeck (and I highly doubt you could even begin to - beyond maybe a look-alike skin); I'd never run it. Even for free. You're a dick. I think you should call your skin Sleazed!ck instead.

Let's show the people what you're up to. No need to put it in another forum; you should be proud of what a sleaze you are.

BTW SD is not freeware, shareware or covered under some GPL, they've got all their copyrights in place. Hope you got a lawyer and that they're saving all your posts... You can be sure the SD guys are.

Looking at the first post I saw:

    Blah Blah Blah
    Rant Rant Rant
    !!!!!!!!!Look at my website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(btw you have to pay to be a member?)
and don't forget, I have an IQ! I can measure it on one hand!

I think the price is reasonable for the product and the support. I just like Road Runner better. I'm also still not sure just what was to be accomplished by all this.
