    Multi monitor mode opininon

I'm new to Street Deck so forgive me if I seem to be a bit off the mark for the intended use of this product. It is my opinion that the current paradigm for multiple use is short sighted and in serious need of reconsideration. While most of the current users of street maybe computer savvy the basic functionality and convenience of street deck is awesome for the non techie. The idea of being able to use the rear monitors as video playback only is not only practical but a natural progression in thought that would lend to further the intuitiveness of the product.

I hope that the developers can make this happen or at least come up with a work around.

This is the only point that makes me select the Centrafuse over the SD

Multi-monitor mode works in streetdeck.. for anything you need to do in streetdeck.. it is a inconvenience when you want to do something in windows... but guess what... you can drag your taskbar to the 2nd screen(aka touchscreen) and using the Nvidia utilities.. you can force windows to open on the 2nd display..

    and this works great

I've been unable to successfully get INTO multimonitor mode in Streetdeck. I have made my touchscreen the secondary monitor, and calibrated the touchscreen, but when SD asks me to hit yes on the confirmation, it prevents the mouse cursor from going over to the second screen, so I cannot accept the dialog. I'm curious how this is done. Are there touchscreens out there that somehow don't emulate a mouse? I don't see any other way to make it work.

Other than that, is there a hack to force it to get into multiple mode?

I have a cheap DWW touchscreen, uses the common touchkit drivers. I guess I don't understand how it's supposed to work, with SD keeping the mouse cursor out of its window. perhaps, they are using s very short time delay to move the cursor out, so that a single click MIGHT get through, but it hasn't worked yet. Also, how in the world are gestures supposed to work?

I use the same drivers on my screen... and it works when I press the button with my finger on the touchscreen.. I cannot move my mouse cursor over there though

I guess I don't really understand the resoning behind this check. What are the intentions of Streetdeck in the multiple Monitor mode? Do they intend to have the primary monitor for the driver, or passengers? I would invision having the touchscreen for the driver, but only allow video playback on the passenger screen, this way I could start a DVD for my kids in the back seat, which would not display on the front screen, and then switch to navigation for the front screen. Is this a possibility, assuming I can figure out how to get into multiple monitor mode?
