StreetDeck Tray App Problem
This is going to sound weird and not likely, but it's the only conclusion I can come to. I've been running the latest demo of SD (purchased copy coming today!) and 50% of the time my pc would boot up fine and load SD. The other 50% of the time, after the XP splash screen it would go black for about 3-5 minutes then load XP without sound. When that happened I could open SD, but it would take 5-10 minutes to load and then of course without sound it doesn't do much.
So obviously I thought it was an issue with the USB sound card (Creative Soundblaster MP3+). Then I realized when it was "hung" during the boot up process, unplugging the sound card would make it go into XP immediately. More reason to believe the sound card was the culprit. The problem was sometimes it worked fine and other times it hung and didn't work.
Then I noticed the SD icon in the system tray which remains running AFTER closing SD. For the past 3 days I've been making sure every time I stop the car I 1) close SD (it won't shut down unless SD is manually closed first) and 2) Exit the tray app. As long as I do that, it boots up, shuts down, loads SD, etc. perfectly.
Has anyone else experienced anything remotely like this? Does anyone know how to disable the tray app? I searched the options and could not find anything related to the tray app and I would hate to have to manually close it every time I stop somewhere. Thanks in advance for any advice and/or people telling me I'm crazy. :der:
