    Public symbols?

Are there public symbols available for SD binaries? I am not sure how useful it would be, but considering how much trouble I am having with getting SD to run I am going through an exercise to have my CarPC remote debuggable (possibly via msvsmon or remote ntsd). As I do this I thought public symbols would be nice... Possibly help diagnose problems faster, what do you think?

Unfortunately we have to encrypt the exe and won't work with public symbols.

Interesting, I did not realize you guys were so hardcore about it . I was assuming SD is fully native, in which case I generally think that if someone really wants to go read Win32 x86 assembly - all the power to them. But I understand that you want to protect your IP.

So do you decrypt on the fly as code is executed or as each binary is loaded - just curious?

We weren't until StreetDeck was cracked very early on, then we became more proactive and I can't discuss the methods used for security reasons.

I am sorry to hear that someone cracked SD. It pains me, especially as a software developer, to hear this. It's always a race between us and them and I wish we did not have to deal with this and could spend time on more interesting and useful stuff like features/bug fixes.

Anyway, I am glad you are encrypting and hopefully you don't have problems like this again.

And to whoever is doing this - SHAME ON YOU! StreetDeck team is working really hard to provide us with a quality product (for fairly cheap, might I add - just map and voices probably account for much of the price!) and stripping them of any profit is just low and to a detriment to the whole community!
