I believe the sky is just a background image that could be replaced...have no idea where it might be, but I don't think it'd be too difficult to find.

thanks man, i found the image. it's called NAV.SKY.png. the only problem i'm having now is figuring out which module/overlay it's tied to. i may be missing it, but i didn't notice anything that specifically called that image.

well, for anyone looking to change the map colors, it IS possible...

the sky/horizon at the top still looks like a white background when viewing it in my car. but i can now see the roads very clearly, unlike before with the default colors...

Where exactly did you change the map colors? Is it possible to have different color schemes for day and night? Thanks

yep, you can have separate schemes for day and night.

go into development mode, go to "tools," then "system color editor." all the map colors begin with "NAV." you'll see what i mean...

I had done that and my question is how do you know what color is what under the Nav section?

the colors change on the actual map as you change them in the system color editor. it just takes a little experimenting. but for instance, "NAVGround1" will change part of the ground in day mode, while "NAVNightGround1" will change the same part in night mode.
