unknown artists and no nav voices

I have 2 issues im trying to get figured out with streetdeck.

After my music was indexed I noticed that I have two artists listed at the top of the artist list named 'Unknown'. Both of these are empty and I want to get rid of them. I have looked around inside WMP for something and I cannot see anything that sticks out. btw, I have it setup to use the ID3 tag for the Album.

My other issue is that the voices for navigation do not work. The music cuts out when it should speak but nothing plays. I checked all the voices in the settings and none of them work. I have re-installed streetdeck a few times and verified that the voice synthesizer gets installed. I have also tested the TTS function in windows fromt he Speech control panel applet and that works.

    Any ideas?

UNKNOWN ARTIST means there's no tag info either in the ARTIST tag or the ALBUM ARTIST tag.

For the voluem of the NAV voice, go into the Volume controls and turn up the volume for NAV voices.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I've been to the main volume control panel in the task bar, speech volume settings in the control panel and the navigation menu in Street Deck and I can't figure it out. I can't find an option to turn up the volume for speech, navigation, voice, etc. Do you think it has to do with my soundcard drivers or something? I'm at a loss on this one.

I did notice that the speech volume was relatively low in versions after 1.0.6.3... it might just be that they are saying the directions.. but your system volume is too low for you to hear it...

I have an issue where I have to have my music volume very loud to be able to hear the navi voices. If i have my volume on say 46 music is loud and navi voice is "hearable" if i have my music on a normal level of like 26 when the volume lowers and navi voice comes on you can barely hear it.

I had a similar issue with the nav voices when I first installed SD. I found that the speech volume had to be close to 100% in order for it to be comparable to that of the music.

I have the problem with the unknown artists. I just put windows 7 on my system. When I index my entire music collection I get an error like "there was an error indexing one or more files" when I goto my music collection I have the entire list full of like 30 "UNKNOWN" and that's all. The unknows are empty-- no music in any of them.

I have not changed my music since I was running windows xp. And I used to have like 100 artists with no problems like this. What's the problem?

This thread is 3 years old....streetdeck has been dead for at least a year (more like 2 depending on who you ask). Might want to give their forums a shot although I think the userbase is pretty non-existent at this point.

I know, crazy old thread. It was originally discussing V1, and you must be using V2. Eitherway here was a fix posted
