I'll start with an obvious question...is the receiver outside or in an area where you're sure it can receive GPS signals when you are testing the system?
I have downloaded the demo/trial version of StreetDeck and really like it except I cant get my GPS receiver to work with the software. I have tried just about everything I know but it didn't do any good. My specs are as follows:
Intel D201GLY Little Valley with 1.33 GHz Celeron Processor packed nice and tight inside of a Morex 3677 Mini-ITX Case (courtesy of MP3Car.com)
Windows XP SP2
Holux GPSlim240 Bluetooth GPS Receiver (connected via their USB cable)
The receiver provided software (GPS Viewer) shows connection when I look at COM port 1 @ 38400 baudrate.
My COM port is running at 38400 bits per second according to Windows Device Manager -> Ports (COM & LPT) menu.
Streetdeck sees the receiver in the Navigation settings menu as COM1 and it is selected. When I start the navigation I get a error message that says,"No signal received from GPS".
Any clues????

I was able to get a lock on many sat's using the "GPS Viewer" software.
Ok. As I remember, if SD can't find the GPS, then there's a different error message...something like "GPS not found". I occassionally get the "no signal" message when I am driving through a downtown metro area with many tall buildings (and my receiver is also inside the car and behind a tinted window).
Maybe others can contribute to this discussion...

"Soon after you enter your codes and your purchase is verified, the mp3car store will send you an email containing the registration code for your hardware which you can then enter into the trial version of StreetDeck to activate all of its features (Navigation will not work until you install compatible StreetDeck navigation data shipped on the StreetDeck DVD)."
I just noticed this on MP3Car.com's StreetDeck software page. Maybe the software will not work properly until you install the DVD version. I am still waiting on my verification code from StreetDeck, I actually bought a copy last night.
I don't know...I purchased the lite version, downloaded it, and installed Mappoint separately. I don't think that registration prevents the GPS from being detected however, although I believe I remember that the navigation module won't work unless the nav data is installed from the DVD. If you tap on the navigation module, what appears?

I am still waiting for the official Streetdeck DVD, but I am running the download trial version with mappoint installed and the Nav works just fine (I also have a holux bluetooth GPS). Are you sure you have the Streetdeck Nav module pointing to the correct COM port? You have to set the com port to use in the Navigation settings. If you have that disabled or set to the incorrect port, it will not work.
