    D201GLY2 and Streetdeck?

i'm planning on building a new system, along with purchasing streetdeck. at the moment, i'm looking at getting the intel D201GLY2 motherboard. the performance vs. price looks great on it. but i searched and read about some problems with the graphics chipset on the D201GLY and streetdeck. in fact, the mp3car.com store says that streetdeck won't work with the D201GLY.

so my question... is the D201GLY2 any different from its predecessor such that streetdeck doesn't encounter any problems? if not, do you have any suggestions for a good motherboard that can handle it?

    thanks.

That's not a bad choice then. You may also want to search for some used MBs that are nicer. Check out the Mini-ITX sticky for a big ol' list of good options.

FYI - I just tracked down the source of my mobo sometimes seemingly losing power and therefore standby failing...it took me about 6 months on and off to figure it out! Source = Realtek HD Audio driver. I have the latest version running on my Aopen i945Gtt-vfa. So, if that is integrated into whatever mobo you're considering and you want to run standby, that could be an issue for you.

thanks for the info, guys... i'm hoping audio shouldn't be a problem, since i have an external sound card that i plan on using. i haven't had any hibernation issues with it at all.

but my concern is still with the intel motherboard. several people in this thread are having trouble with viewing navigation with the D201GLY...

    navigation zoon vertical lines

anyone have the D201GLY2 and successfully running streetdeck?

The SIS chipset is known to NOT work with StreetDeck.

Cool D201GLY2 + onboard video + Streetdeck working great

    My settings:
Updated video driver and updated streetdeck (as of 1/22/08)
    - Chip/Adapter Type: SiS 662 / SiS Mirage Graphics
    - Memory size: 128 MB
    - Adapter String: Mirage 1
    - BIOS 3.72.10

I was running it at default 32 MB before and the navigation module made streetdeck act crazy (flickering map - esp. on the top)

I upped the video RAM to 128 MB in the BIOS and all problems were solved.

    Any questions, just ping me.

Yeah!!! i just installed the 1.1.1.0 update and it solved a few more quirks !!!

I am incredibly impressed with how smooth and fast streetdeck works on this mobo !!!

I am VERY VERY happy with the price/performance of this board, recommend!!!!

EDIT: Turn down the "hardware acceleration" down a notch (or two) in the graphics adapter advance settings if you are still having occasional problems, for me - one notch did the trick to make it work completely beautifully !!!
