    Edirol Ua-1ex

    Hey guys,
Just putting the finishing touches on the install. I hooked up my speakers to the UA-1EX USB device. When I play a file in WMP it plays fine. When I go into StreetDeck I can't hear anything, so I exit out check the sounds tab and find the Wave line to be muted. Any tips/ideas?

I can change the Playing Media Slider and the position will actually hold, but there still won't be any sound.

Does StreetDeck mute the wave line when it starts? If it does its probably because you have the sound card configured as the sound for XM radio or just radio. Disabling the sound for these should fix this.

So the lats test I tried was playing music in WMP and then starting SD. The sound went mute when applying settings. In the settings page I have XM configured to UA but it shows disbaled on the line in. The Radio is diasbaled as a plugin but is set to the UA. The device has my xm as RCA input to it, then RCA output to my amp. I also want my windows media to output to the amp, am I missing something? Am I supposed to have the Default Sound set in my Windows Sounds Manager (not UA)? Thanks for the help.

Good news is I finally have sound in SD. I'm not sure what changed to make this work but ya! Unfortunatly I stillc an't get XM to play. I'll try messing with the settings again. Is there a way to bind the Main Volume slider to the Now Playing Volume Slider? When I use the volume control from the main sidebar one it doesn't affect the now playing sound. Thanks

I started with the same card. I found that card to be too restrictive. For one, i'm not too sure about your issue, but mine was that first of all i couldn't control the volume at all. It was set by the slider on the actual sound card. So if my slider was at full volume, well i was basically listening to everything at full volume. I realized this sound card doesn't allow you to take master control of windows. Going into the sound settings in windows, when I selected my Edirol, the volume control greyed out. The next issue i came to realize was that I had to split the rca's to get all 4 channels to work plus had my sub tapped in to the signal through the rear speaker. After about a week of research I realized this may be a great card for DJ's, but it is crap for this hobby. I ended up with the turtle beach SRM. This little card is awesome. I was able to allow myself full control of the master volume as well as with in each program (SD) and was able to get a cleaner sound by seperating each channel plus sub into the soundcard. I'm running front channel, rear channel, and sub. 4.1 if you wanna get crazy about it. Only downflaw is that I have a samsung helix (xm unit) with will only play front channel. Apparently the sound card can't send the signal of the spdif or whatever it is to all channels. But for me no biggie cause since i installed the carpc, i've really had no need for the xm so i'll prob, just get rid of it all together. My main problem was the volume control issue, but if you can get that to work, this card does crank.

All right I am good to go! I swapped out this sound car for a creative one I found in Office Depot. It just works! I have all my speakers hooked up, and I have XM working. Only downer is that I can't do two line in's (XM + Aux in for iPod/Zune/Mp3 player)
