I will most likely switch back to roadrunner (was using with lsxvoid) - just dont know how to get proper gps software working in roadrunner - but I guess thats a better hurdle to jump over than trying to get a company I paid over $200 to answer my phone calls.
I'm sorry, but what do you mean you "called with no answer"? No one at mp3car answered the phone? I find that hard to believe...they've always been willing to help when I've called. I think there must be other issues....I also find it strange that you've owned SD over a year, but only have 7 posts total...if you are so dissatisfied, why haven't you posted before?

I just popped in to provide some answers to the RR questions. The SD team are working hard we all know it, and they are trying their best I am sure. I do reccommend calling them and they should answer based on what I hear around here. I dont own or use SD since I am cheap and just use what's free! But SD is a great program, with some small flaws. If you dont like, just use something else before you buy it. There is a 30 day demo.

RoadRunner has gestures. They can be custom defined. The "red ball" can be changed to white like SD or to a pink elephant if you want.

There are a few options for voice navigation with RoadRunner. Like this: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-p...ontrol-rr.html

And for navigation, neither RoadRunner or StreetDeck are navigation programs. They both use other programs and embed them. RoadRunner can use any program. StreetDeck comes with Mappoint. So you can embed something like Google Maps and get satellite overlays, or Mappoint and use Virtual Earth (http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/e...int/msnve.mspx)

Like I said above RoadRunner is not a GPS program. So you need some program like iGuidance, Mappoint, Streets & Trips. MapMonkey, TomTom whatever.

    Good luck

Like I said in my post above I do like StreetDeck my major gripe is lack of support and failure to address MAJOR flaws in the product. I'm sure the SD team is hard at work but not having a member of the SD team post in their own forum in over a month is unacceptable. A simple response such as we are restructuring and will have limited time to respond in the forums would have been acceptable or any message to let their paying customers know they have not been abandoned.

I'm fairly certian most SD users including myself are aware of and enjoyed using StreetDeck within the 30 day demo prior to purchasing. What we don't enjoy is the lack of support, and the endless wait for features that are "comming soon" as this was not an advertised feature of StreetDeck. I agree SD is a great program but the flaws are not minor they are MAJOR.

Thanks for the info I'm aware that RR has gestures but SD has a much larger and more configurable list of gestures. The same applies to voice comamnd SD has larger more cofigurable list of voice commands. Concerning navigation I'm pretty sure most of know that neither SD or RR are navigation program but like you mentioned "They both use other programs and embed them". What I was referring to when I mentioned "satellite overlays on navigation" was that SD already has Microsoft virtual earth images overlayed on Microsoft Mappoint implemented a an feature this is something I have not seen in RR.

Sorry if my comments on RR appeared to be questions they were actually observations I've made based on my experience using both Front-ends

I already stated that when I called, the voicemail was full. And who cares how many times I posted on a web forum - support for this product is bad. Why hasnt the moderator replied to this thread? Why haven't I gotten email or IM replies? It because support for this product is poor.

As for the product itself, it great on some aspects but terrible in others. No bluetooth support and version 2 still in the works all this time? No ability to have video clips automatically play from one to the other. Stupid 12 oclock time bug in gps mode.

Anyway, back to the main issue - streetdeck/mp3car: what is going on with support?

Agreed, I would like to see them at least answer some concerns, just beacause they are not "bugs" persay, it would be nice to have SD chime in on our thoughts and concerns.

And if anyone replies with "SD is busy, they don't have the time....blah blah" stuff it. If they didn't have the time they should close down the forum associated with MP3car.com and take it off their website as a support arena. You stop paying attention to customers (current) and your customers will stop paying attention to you (current and future). Frankly I don't want to go that route becuse I am pleased with SD in general, but with that said I have major gripes on how they are handling thier customers on this forum.

I have made a point several times to address this in various degrees and not once has SD made a response. If they are in winter hibernation i think it is time for them wake up.

Just my opinion and as we all know that:
"opinions are like @$$holes, everyones got em and they all stink"

I think the SD team has given up on their own product.

It really is sad that they we're able to screw up such a nice product.
I really thought this was going to be big, with all sorts of features surpassing all the car stereo manufactures.

Now it just starting to feel like an abonded relic.

Come ON!! SD...there is still time to turn this around. I mean look at Galactica she was about to be decommissed, about to be a museum peice, and just like that brought back to life to save the day.

YOu know its really not that dificult. All you need is 1 (only 1), person working on this this full time, to see results.

And maybe, just maybe, someone once in a while could that a few mins (at least once a week), to answer some of the emails and phone messages that have been pyling up.

I agree with you - there needs to be a response to this thread or some contact from the developer/support staff. At least one out of every ten posts on the forum now is addressing lack of support, and whether SD believes that the posts are accurate or not, they should address this issue, if only out of self-preservation. I can't imagine a new user finding the large number of posts regarding lack of support and thinking twice before buying, or deciding not to buy, Streetdeck. This wasn't a problem a year ago - there were complaints of lack of support, but they were much fewer. I think something must have changed at the company...

Agreed. Can't call a forum a support forum if no support consistently offered in it.

Someone from StreetDeck needs to address these threads/issues...come on guys!

I'd say 15 minutes, once a day, to reply to users posted issues, would be sufficient. Not a solution to the issue, mind you, but just "We noticed you're having a problem, and we hope to be able to help you resolve it shortly." Then, at least customers would feel acknowledged.

    Hmmm...maybe this is a reason:

Last post that I could find from God_of_CPU was:

What's going on here? Why hasn't the person who's been identified as the lead developer posted in the support forums for over a month? I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just think this is a bit weird!

In that time, MP3car has also started carrying another frontend...

Maybe I screwed up the search for the last post, but I don't think so. My apologies in advance if I did do so. Anyone else care to confirm?
