Elvis98, looks like you were right:

SD is guilty of AWOL AFAIK (but then again IANAL, FWIW).

I apologize for any initial doubt I had.

For anyone following this thread, the majority of the discussion has moved to a different thread, here:

I have tried CF, and I would keep SD, unsupported, before I would consider changing. Tried embedding mappoint into CF and startup would take forever. Thought the computer froze up several times.

After installing a 256mb video card to use the visualiation background, and then a full reformat (3rd and FINAL time trying to run Vista on anything), reload, and a direct upgrade to current version from the CD version, and SD hasn't even hiccupped. Then recently installed an Imon Ultrabay, programmed it with Streetdeck (super easy to do), and the system now runs, looks, and performs better than I imagined it could.

Maybe they are offering CF in order to keep their SD programmers egos in check, or just to get a larger customer base (I know CF has been signing up sellers), but to give up on SD would be an extreme mistake. Can't see it happening.

Although, I have seen some silly things and attitudes coming out of this company, so who knows. Maybe SD is being taken by someone else? That might not be a bad thing. More resources, better support, less liability to the whole company. Anyway, we could speculate, but there is one thing for sure......if they were to drop SD, just drop it, someone else would buy the rights and continue. Again, not too bad an idea.

SD is too far ahead of any competitor not to continue, IMHO. The only difference I see between CF and RR is you have to pay for one of them.
    My opinion is my own.

I have the first four pages of "this is ridiculous" cached, so if anyone is interested in what is going on, it can be seen.
Mp3Car - this is very unprofessional of you. If you can't develop it, just release the source.
I'dd better , or you will delete this too.

I think that SD generally has and does perform as advertised (outside of the current situation), so I'm not unhappy I bought it at all. Also, the other frontends have improved greatly in the past 1.5-2 years since SD debuted, and where there may be better products available now, I still don't think there were when I purchased SD.

I do, however, feel that those who purchased the software recently have quite a bit to complain about...
i second that.... or stand in line with everyone else.

Yes, Hannah is a hot robot. And plus if i had to listen to Gilbert Godfrey's voice for more than 5 minutes I would probably rip my touchscreen out of my dashboard. But it would be hilarious for the first 3 minutes and to annoy passengers.
