(this is what is known as terms and agreements) After that and only after that is when a business has the right (Due Diligence) to request some sort of license renewal to its existing (already licensee) customers with the future enhancement of the product.
I have no problem paying for an update if I can be assured that I will be getting new features. If 2.0 was coming out in a month and they said that it would have feature x or y and I wanted those features...I would be the first one to sign up and pay for that update. I dont think anybody expects free updates to the next version...what they DO expect are updates and bug fixes. Maybe an answer to a question or two in the Digital Mods forum...

Considering that we are doing half the work to find and report these bugs to SD. I don't need a 2nd part time job. I think free updates are definitely in line here. We don't want to give the idea to SD that we are willing to pay for updates they promised last year.

Sorry...I meant new features when I said updates...

They should provide bug fixes and updates...but like I said, if there is a major version change and a lot of new features...I would be open to paying something for that update. It makes sense to me.

If those features were supposed to be in the initial version than they should be included in the 1.x release and those should be provided for free...

Now we wait to see what the response is from the SD team since this thread has changed topics a good number of times now...

I bought the StreetDeck that was advertised. And that is the result of a specific idea. I don't want software where 25 people are going "well, what about this..??"

I like the look and feel of streetdeck, and I don't have to worry if that next thing I add in is going to crash my system.

Mine is running fine and fully functional by my expectations of the product (although a boomzbox WOULD be nice!). No one has abandoned me. And I really don't think they "abandoned" anyone else either. Just because they don't answer, doesn't mean they aren't listening.

(the Ultrabay is looking good! Almost ready for the fiberglass!)

Make a long story short - I work for a customer service dept. of one small company that pretty much does the same thing (happy to take the money upfront and quickly forget you exist). No one will even bother to answer to your rants and complaints... Even if you get an answer you will get something that will calm you down for awhile so things go back to where they were... Here's their mindset: "you cant keep everyone happy" "who cares, people are still buying" etc...

Here's a solution that will make them **** when they see this post. If at least 3% of customers open a dispute with their credit card company MP3car.com will be royally f****d! Its easy to do and takes about the same time it took me to write this. Its the only way to really scare a company - I say whatever to complainers on the phone but as soon as i hear the word "dispute" I HAVE TO KISS ***

    Benefits :
1.Their merchant account will get frozen until all the disputes are solved which means they cant sell SD to new customers (no money coming in)
    2. Will force them to put anything else they have going on aside and resolve this because they will no longer have cash flow (no money coming out)
    You will INSTANTLY get attention!

Yeah...because THAT will get me Mr. T Navigation...I don't think I will be doing that. I want a working front end...not credit card dispute hassles. You are WAY over the top.

Patience young neophyte...I'm sure a response is coming soon...
