A "statement" regarding SD doesn't bode well for the future of the program. mrcgibb, do you mind posting the email?

In any case, here are my best guesses to what may have happened:

The SD team has not been able to deliver what mp3car.com needs in a product to continue to build their brand, mp3car has evaluated both SD and Centrafuse, and will now be supporting Centrafuse
SD developer has left the company, and development on SD has stopped
There is some legal dispute between SD and another entity
SD has merged/been licensed with Centrafuse. A long shot, to be sure, but this might explain why mp3car continues to sell SD even while this situation continues. I can't imagine that they would knowingly continue to sell a product without support, as it would only cause them difficulty in the future. And, it seems that they have known about this situation for at least a month (since GoC stopped posting), but have continued to sell and register SD during that time.

Time will tell...but we all are familiar with what "soon" means in the world of SD.

Don't hold your breath, kids. ;-) In the meantime, I'm following Red's lead and will be downloading and testing Centrafuse.

Hi as you are aware , or should be , there is alot of unrest in the streetdeck forum about the lack of developers comments or indeed mp3 staff comments about the lack of apparent interest in the product , as i have just purchaced the product i am alittle annoyed that it seems to be unsuported now and it still doesnt include the features promised like phone support !
could you please look at your SD forum and at least put our minds at rest ?

Hi so i take it that sd will be ok , and i have not been ripped of buying a product that doesnt fully work? thanks , if sd is going to be discountinued , i would like a refund , and i can then look to centrafuse etc as a front end? i really need phone support thanks

OOOOOHHHhhhh now that sounds Ominous I've never once heard of something good coming out of the phrase "will be making a statment soon" it usually means the found they body and the husband did it

Anybody who hasn't should really check out RoadRunner and the Lsx Void skin its very nice looking and with transparent Winamp AVS you can't beat it for eye-candy. Its especially nice when rocking out to Rick Astley.

Man this is the most action this forum has seen in quite some time

i just opened a dispute with mp3 through paypal , as i used paypal to make the purchase , the product is NOT as described , and to say phone support is in beta teasting ( lokks like it has been for a year ) is a joke , i wont be fobbed off ! sorry ! mp3 it is prob. not your fault but i work for my money and i aint prepered to throw well £65 away for something that doesnt work as described , if SD developers are giving you the run around then it is time to pull the plug on them!

I'm installing Centrafuse tonight, with high expectations. Looks like it's come quite far in the past year.

sorry, but centrafuse doesn't cut it.

suffers from all the same, lame UI design as every other front-end out there.

TBH if someone were to say look SD is safe there busy beavering away and bluetooth will be out in the next month i would be happy with it , but it is the lack of responce from the developers thats P***** alot of people of , i am quite willing to close the dispute with mp3 if they make a statment tonight or tommorow .................. the last update to sd was well over a month ago , which i suppose isnt bad , but if the developors dont have the time to work on this now , open source it?
