Again, for all of you, I'd like to point out that the free download for CF is NOT what the current version looks like. I'll see if I can get you a new screen shot just to show how much things have changed.

Just a quick question but as a potential customer isn't it your job to get updates sometimes to be latest with whats out there, fix any bugs there might be? Like you would do with windows, antivirus, mac os's, drivers, wow, bf2, cs, and pretty much any other software? We're lucky most of it is automated, lucky like I said, there are times where I've gotten updates and it's completely messed up my system. But I remember where you would need a certain update to connect to servers, etc.

I wanted to back up SOME of the comments here (not all). I too noticed the obvious lack in unbiased review here.

The fact of the matter is, the things you're complaining about Daniel are not legitimate because they simply aren't the case. All I've been trying to do is point out that the things you're saying CF doesn't have, isn't the case.

The PERSONAL PREFERENCE is just that, PERSONAL PREFERENCE. You CANNOT defend subjective decisions in this instance. However, all I've tried to do is point out the incorrect facts and correct them.

I would encourage you to disconnect yourself from the emotional aspect, and spend the time to learn about BOTH pieces of software. When I did my review, I didn't get it done in an hours time. I couldn't do that and call it a justified review. Why? Because I wouldn't be giving CF a fair shot. Why? Because I ALREADY knew how to use SD, but I didn't ALREADY know how to use CF.

A 5 minute review is NOT a fair and unbiased review.

Not sure if you understand me or my point but I have had SD a year and a half loner that you have even been a member here. I am not saying SD sux, I have it, own it and used it for over 2 years. I liked it most of the time but after awhile I can only handle so much. The nav engine is terrible, it will route you off the highway then back on randomely and while sometimes it will work great sometimes it goes into tailspin mode and routes you in circles. I wont go into how many times its crashed on me. In fact everytime I start it up, it crashes then needs to restart. its done that for a long time and when we go this long before updates it very frustrating. You are new to SD so its natural to defend it. Im new to CF so its natural to defend it. My intent is to purely set the differences straight which you are not doing. The fact that a new nav engine isnt even on the list of things to be reconstructed is dissapointing, especially when they acknoledge that it is a problem.

As far as the apples to apples camparison, you failed at that aspect. Your doing what you can to make SD come out ahead, thats fine except your 20 minute experiment of whipping through menus isnt very fair either. You didnt take time to learn the program (which hardly has a learning curve just like SD) and didnt even DL the update to make it current. the reason why that is important is that if a person were to demo it dont you think they will get the most recent update to really see what it can do???

I think you need to relax bud and actually read and understand what im saying. SD has been touting bluetooth for 2.5 years now with no eta and you have to buy thier dongle. CF is far more friendly to other manufatures products and works very well. And im almost positive that SD had nothing to do with the HQCT since it wasnt even designed in this country, I belive it is from europe. Also again, the GV is not apples to apples, that a whole different thing. If I have the time Id buy a G4 and load CF on it so check it out, but you can use all the same HW on CF as you can SD.

Wow. is it hot in here? I think there should be a new forum for SD/Centrafuse bashing. let's just bash Streetdeck on this forum please. lol.

Oh and that Intel video really gave me a warm fuzzy feeling, like when i heard MS was bidding on Yahoo. Now i will have to deal with Intel to get updates? i am already po'd with them for video drivers that crash my pc. damnit!

There was no bias in the test. Try this.....
Find a computer that doesn't have SD or CF on it. Download only the trial versions of both, then, WITHOUT USING ANY PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF EITHER, and only using the facts you can find on the versions you are testing, see how the results come out.

I am not a CF user. I tested it once. To say that I biased the test to SD by not doing this or that to CF is absurd. Know what is missing in the accusations? The fact that I didn't "tweek" or update SD as THAT would bias a test. If anything, by turning on the visualization background (at 100FPS I might add), I taxed SD MORE than CF.

What ticked me off to no end was the Scionwhatever version of a blind test.....

Ok, we are going to do a blind test between a Ford Mustang and a Nissan 350z, but since I drive a Mustang, here are the parameters.

For the Z, lets go around to dealers, ask for the base Z, and report what we find.

For the Mustang, lets order it from the dealer, add every bell and whistle we can get, then report our "unbiased" findings.

    Ridiculous

It amazes me how everyone complains about SD service and support, but then CF can't even put an updated version of their trial on their website to get more customers, and gawd, if you point it out, it's like someone killed their kid. It's our fault for not knowing what their current rev is.

no - that's not it at all Daniel...

sorry you're getting so worked up. I think it best to just let this be and agree that there are differences between the two pieces of software.

The main thing we were trying to point out is that your comments about what CF has and doesn't have are not true.
